Passive infrared sensors (PIR) are motion detectors that open the output relay contacts to generate an alarm signal, when an intruder in a secure location is detected. PIR can has curtain or volumetric type of detection zone.

These sensors can be mounted directly on a ceiling, wall, or in a room’s corner. Some sensors are designed for outdoor use and are resistant to ambient light, radio interference, and small animal interference.
