What is IOT Technology & How it Works?

ORIGIN : 2021 Nowadays, the internet of things (IoT) is a trending topic and has lately developed as an embedded part of our everyday life. We are surrounded by it, anywhere we go, right from home appliances & automation to office gadgets, smart offices sensors, marketplaces CCTV’s with advanced technology, and fitness trackers its everywhere. Considering how much we use the Internet of Things term we thought it would be helpful to look at the origin. It starts not immediate with the inception of the internet but definitely with its support. The term “internet of things” was coined first in 1999 by Kevin Ashton, executive director of Auto-ID centre during working on a presentation for Procter & Gamble in the context of RFID supply chains.

He was the visionary technologist who played a breakthrough role in the IoT technology origin and technology development. IoT technology is growing rapidly despite increasing cyber security challenges. What is Internet of the Things (IOT)?

As per I-Scoop, The Internet of Things (IoT) is a concept that describes how the Internet will expand as sensors and intelligence are added to physical items such as consumer devices or physical assets and these objects are connected to the Internet. The vision and concept have existed for years; however, there has been an acceleration in the number and types of things that are being connected and in the technologies for identifying, sensing and communicating. These technologies are reaching critical mass and an economic tipping point over the next few years.
